Miyoko’s Kitchen Vegan Butter & FabaButter are free from palm oil. Both of these commercial vegan butters are receiving huge accolades both for ethics and taste. Obviously the easiest option, if sold near you.

Coconut oil can replace butter in baking (use the same amount). However, it is flammable, so take care. Some doctors are not fans of coconut oil, but the lauric acid is not the same saturated fat as in meat, and others argue that it’s good for you.

Mr Hugh’s Infused Rapeseed Oils (UK) are flavored with cake like ingredients such as vanilla and hazelnut. So they are wonderful to use instead of butter or margarine.

Search online for recipes for homemade vegan butter. There are plenty about. Although this option is for one for serious cooks, as you do have to go searching for unusual ingredients, like lecithin granules.
